The essence of "church" is assembly and worship. We learn in Scripture about the importance of coming together as the Body of Christ:
"Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near." (Hebrews 10:25 NLT)
The Scriptures on worship are endless throughout the Word. David excelled in worship and probably has more to say in the Psalms about worship than any other subject.
In both Matthew 4 and Luke 4, Jesus Himself told us,
"Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."
