In addition to our weekly Uplift, here are some of our other events:
- First Sunday Family Devotionals: Each first Sunday we have a family devotional at a church member's house, 6:00-8:00 PM. These are great times of connection with each other and with God. We eat, laugh, worship and enjoy our time together.
- Waters for Jesus: Scheduled for Saturday, October 11, from 11-2, this is a new event for us. We will be going in teams to our own church neighborhood, offering water bottles to anyone who will answer the question, "Where do you believe you go when you die?" We believe this approach will open dialogue and allow us to share our faith with our neighbors.
- Harvest Costume Party: October 26, at a member's home. Call for more information.
- Lunches for Jesus: November 7-8. Once again we meet at 6:30 on Friday night at the building where we prepare sack lunches and participate in a brief training session on how to witness to the homeless. On Saturday we meet at the building at 8:00 AM and drive to Santa Monica's Ocean Avenue Pier where we distribute the lunches and share Jesus with the recipients. We are back at the building by 2:30-3:00 PM.
- Mexico Trip (December 6-7): Open to the whole church, we encourage all our young people to participate in these quarterly trips to the City of Children in Ensenada, Mexico. This one will be especially exciting as we provide Christmas gifts to the children at the Maneadero congregation where we provide support.
- Family Christmas Party: December 14 will be our annual Teen/Family Christmas Party. Mark the date!
- Lock-Ins two times each year.
- YouthWAVE, a week-long training session in the spring for potential leaders.
- Trips to theme parks such as Magic Mountain, Raging Waters, etc.
We have added a ministry called GM (Girl's Ministry). Lindsay has scheduled several events for the girls, including:
- On 10-17, a sleepover with movies, junk food and girl talk at her house.
- On 11-30, pottery painting.
- On 12-19, Movie Madness, with Christmas cookie baking and movies.
