In addition to our weekly Uplift & Boost, here are some of our other events: 

  1. ELEVATE: Elevate is our student leadership team. We meet every two weeks in the spring, culminating with a retreat in May. Elevate exists to develop godly leadership within our own Lift Youth & Family Ministries. Through Elevate each student receives biblical instruction and mentoring, is challenged to grow spiritually, is held accountable, begins to discover his/her spiritual gifts, and is given opportunities to put into practice leadership skills with peers and the church body.
  2. FIRST SUNDAY FAMILY DEVOTIONALS: On the first Sunday of each month during the school year, we have a family devotional in a church member's home. These are great times of connection with each other and in our relationships with God. We eat, laugh, worship and enjoy our time together.
  3. GIRLS' MINISTRY (GM) EVENTS: Added in 2008 were events especially for the girls. These include such things as pottery painting, craft day, pedicure day, swim party, Sunday lunch and movie nights. These are in addition to our regular Mother's Day Brunch mentioned below.
  4. WATERS FOR JESUS: In the fall  of 2007 we scheduled our first such event. Because of its success, we are now scheduling this event twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. Mixed adult and teen teams are sent from church to engage people in our city and talk with them about God. Water bottles are offered to anyone who will answer the question, "Where do you believe you go when you die?" We believe this approach opens dialogue and allow us to share our faith with our neighborhoods.
  5. MOTHERS' DAY BRUNCH: 2009 marked our fourth year to bring our mothers together and honor them. This is a potluck meal and was held this year following church on Mother's Day.
  6. SENIOR LUAU SUNDAY: A Sunday in June is set aside as a time to honor our graduating high school seniors with a potluck meal in our Fellowship Center and to pray for them as they begin their journeys toward college or careers. Wear your best Hawaiian shirt!
  7. SUMMER KICK-OFF PARTY: We officially begin our summer program with a kick-off party where we discuss upcoming events, swim, eat and end the evening with a family devotional.
  8. MEN'S FISHING TRIP: Camping and fishing in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains appeals to all ages, and all are invited to enjoy the beauties of God's creation while we fish, hike, build campfires and enjoy time together. These trips are scheduled soon after school ends for the summer.
  9. MAGIC MOUNTAIN TRIP: This annual event is generally scheduled on the Wednesday following the last day of school. 
  10. RAGING WATERS: What better way to lose those summer blues than to douse them at Raging Waters! Scheduled in early August, this is a great day in the sun in San Dimas.
  11. END-OF-SUMMER PARTY: As we kicked off the summer with a swim party, we generally finish it the same way in late August.
